Ika graduated in 1991 from Diponegoro University and continued to obtain his Master's Degree in Construction Management from University of Indonesia. He has more than 27 years of professional working experience in project management implementation at various industries such as EPC, Palm Oil Plantations, ICT, Telecom, Oil & Gas. Design, set up & implement Program Management Office (PMO) and institutionalizing project management throughout the organization. Currently, he is working as PMO Head at Avenew Indonesia.

Bayu has a Master's degree in Software Engineering. He is currently pursuing his PhD at Asia eUniversity. He began his professional career in the IT industry in 1997 and has held a variety of positions ranging from system analyst to management. He is currently working as an IT Consultant on a variety of projects. His professional qualifications include management information system, software development, and IT governance. He is also a lecturer at Universitas Mercu Buana and a professional trainer for ITIL and COBIT. Bayu is teaming up as part of the Membership team for the Indonesian PMI Chapter.

Dheni Prasetyo, PMP

Dheni graduated from Electro-Avionics Engineering of Suryadarma University. However he started his career not even in the technical field. He served in a humanitarian organization named Palang Merah Indonesia (Indonesian Red Cross) where he was introduced to projects and how to manage them. Now he is a Network & Security Department Head at a Managed Service Provider, Hypernet (PT. Hipernet Indodata). Under the Solution Delivery Department, Dheni and his team manage numerous customers, while continuously upholding PMBOK principles.

Dheni is volunteering for two organization called PMI. One is the PMI Indonesia Chapter and the other is the PMI (Palang Merah Indonesia/ Indonesian Red Cross) . It is such an honor to be able to serve both.

I focus on having a balanced life of family, work, and social that is truly a gift from god, we should always embrace it be thankful for every priceless moments in our lives.

Mariana has over 10 years of experience in Information Technology as an Application Analyst, Oil, and Gas. She assists in establishing project plans, maintaining priorities, and completing assignments within the project timeframe. She graduated Bachelor of Information Technology from Gunadarma University and attained her PMP certification in July 2022. She currently works as an Application Analyst and Information Technology Project Coordinator at PT. Medco E&P Indonesia.

Meiko has more than 18 years working experience in mining industry both open pit and underground mine. Graduated from Mining Engineering Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 2002 and MBA ITB in 2011, he has passionate in project management, supply chain, and safety, proven with PMP credential from PMI, CLTD & CSCP credential from APICS, and SMKP Minerba and POU from Ministry of ESDM RI. Currently he works at PT. Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk member of Semen Indonesia Group as a Raw Material Head.

Project Management For Small Projects

What’s a small project? For the purposes of this article, I’ve defined a small project as a project with a budget of less than $30.000 which is generally completed within 2-4 months. Businesses that engage in shorter-term or smaller projects, are generally those that are producing these on a regular basis (my own experience with Island Media is specifically based in digital projects which includes branding, design, development, and advertising). This generally means that often, there are multiple ongoing projects running concurrently – this drives a real need for strong project management. However, historically, project management frameworks have been developed for large scale projects, and while exemplary, it’s not always possible or financially viable to run small projects abiding to the same frameworks.
